 What you are responsible for

* Fully responsible for all operations within the Data Center.
* Script and automate the vast majority of regular tasks
* Create and implement operational policies and procedures utilizing your knowledge of Data Center Operations Best Practices
* Develop, measure against and meet Key Performance Indicators
* Accurately forecast growth and capacity for both hardware and data center facilities.
* Directs the development and/or enhancement of procedures and/or methodologies to achieve optimum performance
* Assists with the establishment of internal controls and monitors activities of unit to ensure operating quality
* Maintain accurate inventory levels and place orders as necessary.
* Coordinate with internal and external resources to complete tasks for pre-determined timelines.
* Ensures that service level agreements are met.
* Manage Operations costs to within budgets and drive costs lower by automation and contract negotiation

What we are looking for

* 5 years work experience in a data center operations role
* Deep knowledge of scripting languages like Perl, Python and Ruby
* Strong knowledge of Operations management frameworks like Nagios, Ganglia, Puppet, Capistrano, including ability to setup, configure and maintain the same
* Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols
* Deep CentOS and/or Red Hat Linux expertise, Apache, Varnish, Nginx, Haproxy, etc.
* Experience managing high volume data centers and redundant systems with 3 9's or greater uptime SLAs
* Project management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple external teams and consultants with multiple assignments
* Ability to actively manage costs for data center operations
* Solid understanding of a 24 x 7 high-availability, mission-critical server infrastructure—must be able to articulate needs and plans to vendors
* Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
* Ability to maintain a positive, professional, and calm demeanor at all times
